At Woopdo we are working to create the world’s most irresistible do-along app – one that brings us together again in the real world. Our app allows anyone to create awesome activities that you do with your friends in the real world.
Our startup is based in Barcelona and San Francisco, pre-seed funded by Bitesize Incubator, which has raised over $40M for prior startups. You would be joining a veteran and mission-driven team with Y Combinator graduates who are passionate about using technology to improve people's lives. App is in private beta, focused on the US college market initially.
Role: Experienced Backend Engineer, Co-Founder
We are looking for a Co-founder/Backend Engineer who is passionate about using social media to make a positive impact and join our founding team. As the first backend engineer, you will be responsible for laying down the foundation of our stack, tackling the toughest problems of setting up a social network, its APIs and services, data analysis, and deployment pipelines, storage, and databases.
Experience with:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working with AWS, including services such as Lambda, CloudFormation, S3, and Redshift.
- Solid experience in designing and implementing complex DevOps solutions.
- At least mid-level experience in code development in at least one high-level backend programming language and one frontend programming language
What you’ll do:
- You will be our first DevOps engineer, and you will be responsible for setting up the platform basics.
- You will review our existing RESTful and GraphQL APIs, as well as DynamoDB tables.
- You will build the first data pipelines.
- You will build the first CI/CD pipelines.
- You will help form the backend and DevOps teams, establish coding standards, mentor, and grow a cross-functional team.
